Sample Rogerian Essay on Racism

Sample Rogerian Essay on RacismIf you are involved in any kind of public relations work, whether in the line of work you've chosen or not, it is absolutely essential that you keep up with the latest news regarding racial relations and racism. While this may be a completely simple undertaking for you, those doing the work behind the scenes might find it far more difficult to do so. However, here are some samples of a Rogerian essay on racism and how to write them.Prejudice is an emotion, but an important one. It makes up the basic structure of human life and it is present in every individual as a way of life. Unfortunately, what people call prejudice is actually based upon their personal views. It is something that most humans engage in every day, but we generally do not call it prejudice.People have irrational prejudices, a good example of which is racism. These are not the kind of prejudice that you experience when you're out in public. Prejudice based upon something that is based o n your individual view of the world is not a problem unless you allow it to become the basis of action that is based on that prejudice. We all hold some kind of view about people, general stereotypes, ethnic groups, and some ethnicities seem to fall under the category of 'people'. At times, this view of the world may have been based upon their skin color, ethnic group, or even a certain religion. There is not one answer to the question of what defines someone as a racist, however, one could state the following. Racism is the belief that one group is inferior to another. When you are holding a racist view, you are allowing that prejudice to control your actions, and this is called racism. You cannot change your view of people, and if you would like to change your mind about them, you have to find a way to change that prejudice.Opinion on racism does not equal prejudice, however, the fact remains that you cannot support prejudice in a public forum. You cannot expect to not get called a racist if you speak out against racism. If you engage in public acts of speaking out against racism, you can expect to be attacked by those who are offended by your opinions, and they can resort to personal issues in order to do this. You need to maintain the best interests of those who you are attacking, because that is what is at stake here.Instead of condemning someone for his opinion on some specific action or not, you should be doing the opposite. You should be defending the oppressed in their own right, just as you would defend any other oppressed person who is not a person of a certain group. Those who hold different opinions or are criticizing someone should be taken into account, and those that hold the wrong opinions must be criticized.
